The role of the CC&R Rewrite is to assist the Board in developing amendments to the CC&Rs and By-laws to comply with new requirements of Federal/State/Local laws as well as community governance in a simplified & more understandable manner, where possible. The ultimate goal is adoption of amended CC&Rs and By-laws through affirmative vote of 320 homeowners.
The recommended amendments will be developed after a thorough review of what has worked well since 1993 and what needs improvement, changes in ISHOA community governance, successful covenants and rules employed by other communities, the perspective of homeowners, and new requirements of Federal/State/local laws.
In addition, the amended documents will be simplified and made more understandable, where possible.
The Committee will examine all aspects of the governing documents, but it will pay extra attention to several areas of special focus. These include:
- the relationship between ISHOA and the Golf Course;
- the role of the Architectural Review Board (ARB);
- the important role ISHOA rules and policies play in support of the governing documents;
- incorporation of the requirements of RCW 64.90 and other laws into the amended documents.
The ultimate goal for the committee is adoption of amended CC&Rs and Bylaws through affirmative vote of 320 homeowners.
